Song: Recessional Album: Miracle in the Rain

20 Recordings from 2000 to 2003
Album:Miracle in the Rain

Recessional

This composition was initially written with the thought of using it for the wedding march for Tommy and Nicole's wedding. I was having a hard time expanding the melody and getting nowhere fast so the song was placed on the back burner. The day before Tom and I were to fly to upstate New York for the wedding, I was still short a recessional with little time to write. Thankfully I remembered this little song and quickly went about throwing it together.

At the end of the song I brought in the trumpets playing a motif found in Nicole's Song (The Wedding March). Tom (Tommy's dad) didn't care what I wrote as long as it had church bells in it - lots of bells! So for Tom I added bells. I wish I could have had time to sequence it the way it should have been with each track playing it's own instrument, but for a last second solution to the recessional issue it worked perfectly.

The Recessional has been used since at numerous weddings in and around Bombay and Fort Covington, New York.
